Best Liquid Meal Replacement/Protein Shakes

Please post what good liquid meals you have. Including hearty soups. Anything you can eat on the liquid diet, but especially nutritionally complete products or recipes.

My liquid diet time is coming up. 10 days before, 6-8 weeks afterwards. I'm going to be on liquid meals for a long time, and I have started a chart comparing them on my computer. Any suggestions for me to try?

I think my thread is maybe out of place, would a moderator fix it? I didn't look at the food forum before I posted it.

I like Matrix 5.0. But for a little fiber you can go with Atkins shakes but the calorie/protein isn't the greatest with Atkins. Then there is Boost, Ensure, etc.

I know I've said this before but I use EAS. By itself it's not the best, but not the worst either.
I mix the following together to get a good shake...
Chocolate EAS with 1/2 cup 1% milk and 1/2 cup vanilla yogurt. Add 2 teaspoons of peanut butter
Chocolate EAS with 1 cup 1% milk and 2 to 4 teaspoons of fat free cream cheese
Chocolate EAS with 1 cup 1% milk 1/2 to 1 teaspoon instant cappucino or hot chocolate mix
Vanilla EAS with 1 cup 1% milk or 1/2 and 1/2 milk and yogurt mix with your favorite frozen or fresh fruit and 1 teaspoon of vanilla, almond, coconut flavoring.
Just experiment with your goodies. You'll find something that will get you going and taste great!

I was using slim fast low carb and adding a scoop of unflavored whey protein powder and some frozen fruit and a few ice cubes and blended. I had a nice filling smoothie and with the protein you need.

I had to be on liquid diet two weeks pre-op and two weeks post-op...I drank slim fast (optima) it really does curb your appetite....I started out drinking 3 or 4 a day until day 3 and then I dropped a slim fast and replaced with a small green salad(this is allowed by my doctor)this is before the surgery...after the surgery, I didn't want anything to eat...I still drank the slim fast, just small amounts at a time...

Probably because Boost and Ensure are also used for people who don't eat anything at all. Tube feedings and such and the calories are not great at all.

I've never tried Unjury but from what I read, most like it. Are you mixing it with water or something like OJ?

I don't have a comment regarding Unjury one way or another, never tried it. But the protein drink from GNC is vile and disgusting. I couldn't agree more.

I love Unjury! It is less sweet than the others and like Hoosierpoms says, the unflavored in soup or juice or whatever is awesome! I was running low on calories/protein the other day so I used a scoop of chocolate unjury, lf mild an 2 tblsp sugar free peanut butter. YUMMO! Tasted like a chocolate pb shake! I also really liked the chicken broth much better than the others I have tried. What don't you like about it? And which have you tried? I am not a fan of vanilla or strawberry....

I have a really hard time finding a protein drink that is worth a darn so that is why the unflavored is my favorite. :)

I am not fond of protein shake either, but I found a mix at Costco - Sportpharma (chocolate) Whey Protein mix that is not that bad. I mix it with 2% milk and a half of a small banana and I feel satisfied. I also used the Unjury Protein (unflavored) in soup (Better than Bouillon) and found it did not alter the taste at all.
