Protein after your workout?

I used to take protein after my workout, but now that I'm in more of a weight loss kind of mode, should I be drinking a recovery protein shake after I work out? What do you do? What should I do? Why?

I've read some interesting articles lately about how good milk is after a workout. In some studies (and you have to take everything with a grain of salt of course) the participants who drank skim milk after their workout in preference to protein drinks, sports drinks or water lost more fat and gained more muscle than the others.

It doesnt hurt to give it a try. Apparently milk has the optimum proportion of proteins and carbs for recovery and is absorbed by the body the best.

Protien after a work out helps the recovery process, especially after a good workout. You should try to get some protien within an hour of exercising. We had a sports nutritionist in my class today who talked about this.

If your body is in the recovery process you can not only build muscle faster, but loose weight faster than without it! :)

(Good to know I pay attention in class...lol)
