exercise questions

I am having surg. on the 25th. I am a fit fat guy. I exercise regularly and at a fairly high level i.e. I road my bike for approx 2 hours and climbed 2000 vertical feet on three separate occasions since monday... the only reason I am saying this is I am worried about getting back to this type/level of performance... I don't want to have to give up endurance sports... do I need to be worried... also worried about water intake and occasionally food for long rides

hi chl,
you will have no problem with endurance sports once you are healed and cleared by your surgeon. you may need to take it easy for a bit, but it shouldnt really impact you that much.

water and food shouldnt be an issue once you are healed and on solids.

welcome to LBT
(i moved your post to the exercise thread)

I don't see JC posting on here lately. He is REALLY into exercise. He would be a good person to talk to. Maybe you could find him by doing a user search.

I know he posts in the "Has anyone taken up bicycling" thread

chl:

You might notice that you have an issue with energy the first few weeks after surgery. I'm pretty sure that it has to do with your body sending alot of energy to the healing parts and ignoring the rest of you. It comes back after about a month or so. I have more energy now than I've had in 20 years! Yippee!
