which exercise program?

Has anyone done tai chi or forza after LAP-BAND®? Pilates? yoga? What are some good exercise programs to start with? What about later? When can you start aerobic types? How soon after surgery can you start anything other than walking, which I plan to do tons of. Water aerobics? Spinning? Just wondering where to start after leading a sedentary life with fibro.

I would ask my Doctor just to be safe. I was banded March 31st and am already walking 3 miles 6 days a week. as far as other workouts, when I feel comfortable im gonna do them. I am ready for the workouts. Good Luck

My surgeon's office instructed no exercise other than walking for 6 weeks after.

I sugest starting out small and working up to what you want to do.
You may not be able to do a whole Tai-chi class but you can do what you can. then next time you can do more.
I think you are suposed to take it easy for the first 6 weeks after surgery then when your dr gives you the ok you can do more.

Mine said to wait 6 months too. After that I started the Body for Life workout by Bill Phillips. It really got me motivated and now I am into alking, weights and Trikking daily, except for my Sundays off to recouperate. Check out Bodyforlife.com
