Exclamation Very Important! Please Read! My life is in your hands!

People. Quit texting while you drive. Please for the love of all that is good in this world put the cell phone down.

That is all.

Thanks for your time.

And here I thought there were supposed to be laws at least in some states against using a cell phone/pda etc. while driving?

Not something I've followed but man I know my kids get pissy if we don't answer right away. And I keep telling them if they call and I'm driving if theres no one else in the car to answer it.. Tough... I will call them soon as I get stopped somewhere. My son plans on getting us both hands free headset thingys for our birthdays.

It's like people eating, putting on makeup etc. while driving. If you can't make the time to do these things safely. DON'T bother!

I'd much rather be late then dead.

Me too. Plus you not just going to kill yourself, if you have both eyes on a cell phone texting on the interstate chances are when you wreck you will take out someone else...maybe someone who is putting on mascara in the mirror so they didn't notice when you veered in their lane.

A friend of mine does this and she can't understand why I wont get in a car with her driving. She refuses to buckle up, she wont use a hands free set (I swear by mine) and she texts.

I took her to the store one day and she couldn't figure out why I wouldn't put the car in drive with her unbuckled, I finally told her that I wont drive with anyone ANYONE unbuckled. She finally grudgingly buckled up then whipped the cross strap behind her. I wouldn't budge still, she fixed it and we moved. She says I am to much of a 'fuddy duddy' to drive with anymore, so be it I refuse to drive with her, and she with me.

I've almost been killed by people on their cells as well as texting. I say people should not be engrossed on the phone when operating heavy machinery.

I just can't comprehend that. Your in a car going fast by other drivers going fast. You have to pay attention and protect yourself. If I have to use my cell I use hands free. You need your hands for driving.

Texting, talking, reading, eating, putting on make up, even turning around to look at your kids, all are dangerous to yourself, your passengers and everyone else around you on the road.

There have been studies that say that talking on your phone (even with a hands free set) can be as influencing as driving after drinking alcohol. I've seen this proven, and yet it's still legal (or severely unenforced?).

Just when you think you have seen it all - In the car ahead of me, the driver was brushing his teeth! Yes, brushing his teeth. A multi-lane highway at high speeds, and he is performing his morning rituals! Brush brush, swill some water from a cup and then spit back into the cup.

I was flabbergasted, and yet in one of those 'can't take your eyes off of it although repelled' experiences, I kept watching. Part of it of course was to ensure that he didn't suddenly jam on the brakes to floss or something!

I have read in the media that someone using a cell phone while driving can be as slow to react to on road actions as any drunk driver. But driving drunk is against the law.

I paid a lot to have a bluetooth unit installed in my car. It has been sooo worth every penny.
