Psych & nutrition eval before or after approval

I have Definity/UHC and had my consultation with the weight loss center last week. Have a bmi of 40.2 which should qualify me with no co-morbidities. When I called Definity they said I would need a psych, nutrition and excercise consultation. Just wondering if I should pay for these now or wait until my paperwork is submitted first? Will they approve pending these reports or want them before hand? Thanks!

With my insurance I had to have the psych and nutrition counseling before my insurance would approve the surgery. All insurance companies are different and require different things. Your dr.'s office should be able to tell you what needs to be sent to the insurance company for approval or you can call the insurance people directly.
