LA Weight Loss and insurance?

I have to do a two year medically managed diet as per my insurance. I did LA Weight loss 12/04 to 6/05. They have just sent me a copy of my "chart documentation" with all my weigh in (I requested it in June and was told that they could not send it to me, when asked why they stated that it was "their property" and it could only be released to my doctor. Since my doctor never received it, I sent them another fax yesterday and they faxed it to ME today.) So, if my insurance accepts this as part of my two year medically managed diet, I should be ready to go by December.

My question: Did anyone else who had to do a "medically managed diet" insurance accepted LA Weight loss? I'm ready to file my third and final appeal and want to make sure I get it right.

If you have only one appeal left, perhaps you should entrust it to an attorney with experience in these matters. Many have used Walter Lindstrom www.obesitylaw.com ; he himself is a former WLS patient.

Each insurance company is entirely different. Some will accept weight loss programs or even gym memberships. Others will only accept MD supervised programs.

Good luck!

I have thought about using an attorney, but if insurance does not accept LA Weight loss as a medically managed diet, then I don't believe that even an attorney will be able to help.
