| highmark bcbs pa
Hi everyone, I am in the process of getting my Lap Band. I am on my second month of dieting and seeing a nutritionist. My question for anyone is with bcbs highmark did they pay for your surgery completely,or did you have to come out of pocket? I know i need to pay for copayments, but just unsure of what the surgery would cost, thanks for any input! have a wonderful day!

I have bcbs highmark out of Pa. and had to pay for my surgery. They said they did not cover the lap band. I hope you have more success than I did with them.

There's no way to compare your out-of-pocket with anyone else's, unless they work for the same employer.
What's your surgical cost? Hospitalization? If you have a per-day copay then you'll likely be hit for two days (if you stay overnight). Check your plan design, and see what it says next to hospital/surgical benefits.

I too was covered 100%, I have highmark through the railroad. If you have any questions and are railroad I will be glad to help, there are several people that have been approved since I had my surgery. I was also told at first that they do not cover it at all, ever. Good luck, they are a bear to deal with. ~Mandy

Bandland, it's almost as great as Disney, only with no rides or characters. |
