BC/BS of Tennessee

Has anyone been approved that has Blue Cross PPO of Tennessee? I'm set for my doctor on Feb.5 for my approval, I'm not worried about them approving me. It's the insurance company. I want this so bad!!! I have been overweight since I was 10.I'm tired of starving myself to lose weight. If anyone has could you tell me what all I need to do?

I live in Tennessee but my insurance is Blue Cross PPO of Alabama. They have not been kind in dealing with my Lap Band request. I am tired and considering self pay, but all doctors here are asking for 18,000. Sounds pretty expensive compared to some other areas. How is your journey going with BC of Tn?

I have it (BC/BS of TN) and my specific plan had an exclusion for treatment of obesity. Needless to say, I was a self-pay.

Good luck though... your SPECIFIC plan may very well be different.

Here is a link from Inameds web site that may be of hel pto you with Blue Cross of Tennessee if you are a state employee, they may cover it now even if you are not a state employee, this statement was made back in September of 2004, it is worth checking into
