I remember walking my class down to the nurse school to get free flu shots. It was a week early, they were sticking needles in oranges. When we came back in a week they were fine. But it was big laugh

....I was rather trapped with the 'out of network' thing as my local clinic did NOT have a Band Surgeon....what it came down to, was since there was so much evidence, much like your own case, perhaps not quite as complcated...and their own med team had demonstrated the necessity of such procedure...and while they DID try to convince me to go RnY....I could not make that call....

They finally referred me "OUT" of network and the Band surgeon (my OWN choice) accepted their fee schedule...as did the hospital....

No problem...just a little extra hassle for me....it all worked out fine.

They can't insist you have ONLY what THEY pick for surgery. That choice is up to you and your physician. What they PAY for IS their choice. My carrier had a little wiggle room they didn't want me to find out about.

Good luck...you do have choices. And you will find overcoming obstacles gets easier with a little practice...
