So talk to your doc. None of us have the tools to remove your band.
;)

I would also suggest talking to your doctor. I am not sure how willing a doctor is going to be to take your band out after only having had it a week though. Exactly what type of stress is it causing you?

I'm starving for one . All I do is cry becuase I feel I made a mistake. I want to be able to have the foods I like and I dont now.... I feel like i can try less dramatic ways to get healthy and feel good about my self. All I do is dream with food and soda.. I know that sounds silly . I feel like I was happier being myself before surgury.

Ok, I know you said you don't want anyone to talk you out of anything, but I would just like to point out a few things, please don't get upset with me.
First off, of course you are hungry right now. You are probably on a liquid diet. Once the initial swelling goes down from the surgery, many of us get hungry. This is because there is no fill in our band yet and it is like we don't even have the band. But, we have to give it the time to heal. Have you talked to your doctor and asked if you can move on to the next stage?
As far as soda, I was a diet coke addict. I had it for breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, evening snack and everything in between. I thought I would die without soda. But, now I can't stand the taste of it. It tastes thick, syrupy and I can't stand the tingly feel. With that being said, I do know some doctors allow their patients to have soda, as long as they let it sit out and get a bit flat first.
As for the rest of the food, I honestly can say that I have not given up any foods that I ate pre-band. Yes, I try to make healthier choices. But, there are still foods that I just love. I got this band to lose weight, live longer, enjoy life and be a normal person. Normal people like the same foods we do and eat them. I still eat them, yes, not as often, but I do eat them. And, when I do my band is there to make sure it is in moderation and I do not overdo it. Therefore, I have no guilt.

Sorry if you took my answer as flippant. It is not. If you don't want us to talk you out of it, then all we can suggest is talking to your doc.

Didn't you think through any of this before you decided to have surgery? If you can deal with being obese the rest of your life then why did you get the surgery in the first place?
I don't mean to be hard on you but for you to want to give up after only 7 days is just amazing to me. That first two weeks was hard on me too but I knew that it was a necessary evil, I knew that I was the one who got myself fat so I was the one who was going to have to fix it. Were you a self pay? Has your doctor agreed to remove it?

I called my doc and he wants to see me asap mainly because im really depressed and have had the runs since surgury. I know where you are coming from but nobody knows me better then me......and I think its best I have it removed before I do something to hurt my body or self.

WOW! I hope you get the help you need. I wonder how your insurance company is going to react to all of this. If you ever want help or support in getting this to work for you, please let us know.

Hi,
I will say that 2 days ago, I felt exactly like you. I was a sobbing, weeping mess and could not believe what I had done to myself. I kept saying it was the stupidest decision I'd ever made and I wanted it out! I had some pains as well, so the doctor wanted to see me yesterday. In a nutshell, my numbers (blood sugars, electrolytes, etc.) had all bottomed out and were screwing up my hormones. I knew I was being irrational, but I couldn't stop my head from freaking out. My doctor was great and told me that first of all, I could reverse it, though he wouldn't do it right then. Second of all, he thought that once I had some food and Gatorade in me, I'd see things much differently. So on the way home I had that Gatorade and he moved me from clear liquids straight to full liquids and mushies and I immediately felt better. I cannot believe it was just yesterday that I was sobbing in the shower.
So, having said all of that, wait and talk to your doctor. It could be that you just need some nutrition in your body and you'll feel human again. That was what happened with me!

Maybe going to the before and after pictures would help you feel better until you get into your doctor.
Maybe you are going to be like the other poster who once they got their
food and gatoraide felt better. I don't think you are going to find many people here that hate their bands. You could try sending a private message to someone who has had their band removed. I know the band isn't for everyone, but the majority of us love our bands.
I eat whatever I want in small portions. It's only the first four weeks or so that you have to be strict in what you eat/drink.
Now if the band would just not allow chocolate to go through, I would be thrilled!

I could Not get normal by myself. It was a last chance for me.And I am disgusted at myself for getting almost 100# over Normal weight.
I am no longer a size 20-22.I can wear a 14-16 comfortably. And Airline seats don t choke me now.I don t feel like someone else is looking at me in my mirror.
I wouldn t change anything for the chance to be "average size".
I cannot imagine anyone truthfully saying they would rather be fat than healthy.Your knees and back will scream at you with the extra weight on you.
I am sorry you are having a difficult time and hope you can resolve this and just be a happy you.
God be with you and You will be heavy in my thoughts....
