Pain in the upper chest area.

I was banded two days ago on the 7th. I am having very sharp pains in my upper chest area. They come and go as they please and it is so bad that I get light headed from it and sometimes have dry-heaving. That is really my only complaint. It happens with or without intaking liquids. Any one else experinced this? Other than that I feel fine and have stopped pain meds yesterday.

I had some pain in my shoulder and back....it was gas pains and it was very painful!!!!! I would say if it don't get better soon I would call your surgeons nurse and check with them.

Its quite common for people to have the pain you describe for a day or two after surgery. Gordonfamily is right, its pain from the gas they pump in so they can see what they are doing. As soon as all the gas has been absorbed into your system, the pain will stop. Until then, just suck down those pain killers.
