Important Q for Dr. C.

Dr. C, I have been on a liquid diet since sunday the ninth. I have been very good as not to cheat whatsoever. However, tonight, friday, I cheated. It is my son in laws birthday and we all went out to the restaurant. I couldnt help myself. I ate some spagetti. I am so nervous. My surgery is monday the 17th. I dont plan on eating anything at all again, but I'm worried that I might have ruined it. I'm afraid that if I have any food in my tummy while being banded that it could come up and I could choke on it. Do you think my tummy will be empty by monday morning?

For solid food, gastric emptying is often seen by about 90 minutes, but may last a few hours.
Certainly wouldn't expect anything to remain until Monday!
Have a great Monday and a great Lap Banding experience!

Thank You so much Dr. Hekier, I feel so much more relieved now, and I'm sticking to just liquids.
