| Horrible pain chest and back | |
Hi,
I was operated on on sept 7th 2007. I was doing fine, losing weight in a slow process. Lately I have been getting very sharp pains in my chest, feels like a stabbing pain in my chest and it continues to my back, I can barely breath at times... Does anyone know what this is? Is it because of over-eating, not enough liquids, or maybe something wrong with the band itself? |

Does it happen while eating? Pains on the chest, especially the area of the band, that radiate to the back, is fairly common to experience when something is stuck.

I would call your doctor. I hate to be the voice of gloom and doom, but that recently happened to me and my band had slipped. Does the pain last for a long time?
If nothing else, you might need a slight unfill. When my doc took a little out, the pain quit happening. It wasn't until a month later that he did a barium swallow and saw the slippage.
Hope I'm wrong, but I would get it checked out if I were you. Of course, I may be overreacting based on my own experience, but if the pain you're describing is like the pain I had - much, much, much worse than the pain of getting something stuck - then you need to do something about it. No one should have to live with that.
Oh, do you still have your gallbladder? That can cause intense pain a few hours after eating.
Take care -

State: New Mexico | Might have them check your gall bladder as well, pain radiating to the back is a complaint I always heard associated to gall baldder. And losing it is very common following any WLS. Hope you feel better soon! Keep u
