Any support groups/lunches that happen in Vancouver or Surrey? I see ones for North Van and Chilliwack and Victoria but never for where I would be able to get to.

no, support groups are few and far between. The best one is a combination of gastric bypass and banded patients. There website is BCWLS. Try their website because they post all meetings. Doddie

Unfortunately the Chilliwack one is a support group of just me.... hahaha, so far not really any response to wanting to have a get together.

North Vancouver group has a total of four. Two from North Van, one from Pemberton and one from LM. Wish we could get more but we don't even get a nibble. Guess people think they can do it on their own, unless of course they attend a mixed gastric bypass & banded group. These groups are great but I found the gastric bypass patients lose weight so rapidly that their needs were different to mine. I sure hope the N.V. group holds up. Doddie

I would love to meet with other bandsters but I would never get to North Van. The skytrain to downtown Vancouver is as far as I venture. Being originally from Australia I don't have a clue where I am going if I venture outside Surrey hahaha.

Kaya I don't blame you what with all the skytrain muggings go on. I ceertainly would not venture out your way. I wish you luck in finding a group. As I said I know the BC WLS groups meet all over Vancouver LM. Doddie

I'm not aware of a support group in Victoria, but have recently asked if anyone would like to get together if they live on Vancouver Island. Anyone from the mainland who would be interested is also welcome.

If there is a Victoria support group, I would like to contact them, so if you are out there please let me know. Thanks.
