| Pickles on pre op?
Anyone who did the optifast pre diet eat pickles? I have to do it for 3 weeks and I am so sick of veggies, jello and optifast, well I do not mind the Optifast, but I would love to have a pickle. Did anyone eat them on the SWLC pre op diet?

I would suggest you take the pickle and such on it. Then throw out the pickle. The pickle taste should settle your craving. But I would not break the diet, it is too important and your doctors would not have prescribed the diet if it wasn't important. Do give in you can do it. Think of the benefits to come. Doddie

My clinic said dill pickles were fine but to keep them to a minimum. Of course, you have to count them in with all the other veg's and not exceed the recommended daily calorie intake. But beware... I got soooooooo sick of pickles too that I still haven't been able to eat them again.

mmm Pickles!!! Yes they are allowed on the SWLC pre-op diet, in fact I called them pre-op pickles! lol they are fine and help with the much needed chewing. As JLB mentioned count them in with your calorie count for the day... you can eat a lot of them as they are so low in calories. No sugar though, I got mine at Costco, huge jar and I eat a lot of them!
ENJOY the crunch!!

Dill Pickles for the win. I loved the pickles during the pre-op, and I ate them like they were going out of style.
Yah they are high in salt, but I was high in fat so it all worked out.
