This is an interesting question. I have heard that a number of Dr. Yau's patients have had ports which have flipped. I was banded by him Sept 2006 and my port is placed dead centre on my torso and about 2 inches below my bra strap. It hasn't flipped but I hear that he is placing ports in different regions of the torso now. Perhaps these areas are less stable for anchoring a port???

My port has been on it's side since the swelling has gone down right after surgery. It hasn't created any problems for me. Fill are really easy. They just have to go in sideways.

Hi: don't go looking for difficulties when there are none. Ports are easily filled when they are on the side by someone that knows what they are doing. Also, it is a simple matter to have the port put right if you want to go thru local surgery. Mine is flipped and the doc out here has trouble but the TLBC fill nurse has no problem whatsoever. Doddie

I agree. Mine is also flipped but Nancy at TLBC has no problem going in sideways. Only problem is right now it sticks out (kinda like a 3rd breast), but I'll wait until I get to goal before deciding if I will do anything about it.

Mine is on its side too... doesn't bother me really. What bothers me more is that it is right at my waist and bothers me a bit when I'm wearing pants with a bit tighter waist band.
