Thumbs down Milk - Yuck!

I gave up milk years ago when it used to give me gallstone attacks. I dont drink coffee or tea and I didn't eat cereal for breakfast so I didn't miss it at all. I persisted on the Optifast as it was only a week. I wasn't keen on milk before the surgery but now that I am on "Up and Go" and "Sustagen" that milky taste just wont leave... are we allowed to suck on a sugar free sweet or something? I see the dietician on Wednesday but this mucus feeling is getting me down.:confused2:

Hmm... I never had Up and Go or Sustagen or any particularly milky drinks when I was on full liquids. I went through the entire Campbells and Heinz low fat soup ranges, blending anything that was chunky, until I was allowed mushies. There are so many varieties out there, that I was rarely bored, although you do have to watch the sodium levels as many of them are pretty salty. Breakfast was often a low fat yogurt and sugar free jelly, but as often as not I'd have soup for breakfast too.

I think it would be ok to suck on a sugar free sweet or mint (I have the eclipse mints).

Try some V8 juice heated up with some cracked pepper. I've started having this instead of my mid-afternoon coffee.

You can also mix some of the protein shakes with water instead of milk. :)
