I have just had my 1st opti fast bar today, wasnt that bad, a little cardboardish but nothing to puke over.

I had my appointment with my aneathaesist ( i think i spelt that wrong) and she said the the sooner i start the opti fast the better as in the more weight i lost pre op then less pulling around during the procedure and the less pain i will be in after surgery. So i have started incorperating some optifast now, ill have a shake for lunch and see how that goes down, quite prepared for it to be discusting.

Today im really crapping my dacks had a dream last night that i can cuts everwhere after waking up after surgery with a tube down my throat. After my appointment yesterday its really hit home that i will be having this done very soon. eek!

Hey all,

I'm still around. I had a scare earlier in the week where I thought I might have an umbilical hernia, and had to go in for an ultrasound.

The bad news was that I had to wait for two days for the results. The good news is that it all looks clear, aside from scarring from previous surgeries (two caesars).

Optifast is going ok. I must admit I cheated a couple of times last week but, all this week, I've been very strict and am finally starting to feel better. I was feeling nauseous and weak until, I presume, my body went in ketosis. Now that it's there, it's not too bad. And I've lost nearly five kgs since last Thursday!

Less than a week to go for me now. It's all becoming very real!

Hey everyone,

I am officially banded! Surgery went off without a hitch. I don't have any gas or shoulder tip pain and, so far, I'm feeling pretty darn good. I didn't believe they had put anything in there until I saw the barium.

I'll update my site in a couple of days with the full story. Suffice to say, I'm thrilled to finally be a bandit.

Hey Jane, lovely to hear from you! By the sounds of it you are a perfect patient!!! Im so glad it went well!

i on the other hand still have 23 days to 2 go!

I started optifast 2 weeks early and i think its nearly killing me! I have the worst wind pains- should really call the DR!

But i have lost 2 kg so thats good!

You blog was a very funny read
