I am new to this forum thingy so don't mind me if i dont use all the abbreviations available.
My story so far....banded in October 2005, lost 30kg and got done to 115kg, then fell pregnant. This was a miracle in itself as doctor after doctor had told me that it was not possible for me to get pregnant and I would never have children naturally. Had my son in November 2006, and although I hadn't had any fluid out of my band I just didn't seem to be able to lose any more weight. Fast forward 9 months...me & my family are getting set to travel to africa to visit my husband's family so I decide it would be best to have the fluid out of my band as we don't want any complications whilst we are there. On my return from Africa 3 months later I had lost 10kg and was feeling all good and motivated to lose more weight...but that didn't happen and I have actually put on about 15kg since my return. About 4 weeks ago I decided it was time to do something about it and thought I could try and lose weight by myself. So for the past four weeks I have been going to the gym 4-5 times a week including 2 personal training sessions and eating really healthy but I just don't seem to be losing the weight. So on the weekend I made the decision to get my band refilled...I am booked in to get a refill next Thursday morning. The girls at the centre where I had it done have told me that the doc will probably recommend a puree diet for at least a week cos it is going to be as tight aas it was when i first got the band put in...bring it on I say!!!!
Hopefully this helps me kick start the losing weight thing....can anyone offer any support or food tips for my impending journey back down the gastric banding road???
Getting refilled next week...can't wait!!!
