i am one of those weird people who always arrive early.generally if i am not 15 min early for an appt, i consider myself late. i work in a call center, so i try to get there so that i am parking about 30 min before my start time. i have to log on to my computer, open several apps, get ice water, etc.

The President/CEO of the company I work for has a rule that he lives by, "five minutes early is on time".

i'm usually 10-5 mins early to work, unless there's an accident or ppl on their cell phones (LOVE SO.CAL!) then i 'm probably in right at 8. but at my old job, since the pay was horrible and managers demanded workers to bust their asses for nothing, i would come in 30-45 minutes late...never heard a complaint...then again i would leave at 7or 8 at night...

No time to exercise becuase I'm chasing my tail, no food to eat becuase I couldnt be bothered shopping, so dial for a pizza again type of thing. NO food for kids lunches, so call in to the convenience store on the wayt o school to pay heinous prices for absolute rubbish.

I have really managed to mend my ways and nobody has been late for school yet this year, lol, but they've only been back at school a few weeks (our long holiday is over December/January).

I'd always manage to get places on time, so I lie when I say late, but the trouble is, I'd leave a bomb site behind me. To get somewhere on time and leave a clean house behind, now that would be a dream.
LOL! I think we were separated at birth, Jacqui! That is me to a T!

I set my own hours for years----and before that---I worked from my home----both running a day care center. I am VERY organized in most matters---you must be if you have all those kids in your home every day!!!

I had parents who I could have set my watch by!!! Always on time, kids backpacks organized, and prepared lunches. Then I had parents who knew Kat would not let their little ones go hungry---although they somehow, somewhere found time to stop and grab their own coffee and cigarettes....but most fell somewhere in between!

That was at drop off. Until I turned it into a business outside my home, every last one of them at one point or another took advantage. They would stop and do their shopping quickly before picking up the kids---yeah with every other working parent in town! Then I got tough. 15 minutes grace, and then $10.00 per quarter hour! They paid once and were suddenly on time!

Now I no longer work----I take care of my granddaughter---and find myself RUNNING to make it places on time!!!
Payback I am sure!!

Kat
