Oh, that's good because I am a total dag when it comes to workout music. I'm not really into dance, hip hop style stuff although I always always enjoy the more modern music at a Spin class or similar.
But on my MP3 is about 30 Cold Chisel songs - an Aussie band huge in the 80's, stick kicking around here and there, but basically just Aussie pub rock with a strong blues feel to it. What else is on there, ah, oh gosh, this is very embarrassing. Little River Band - Hang on, another song from the 70's, some Greenday, that's not too embarrassing, and at least from this century, a bit of Hunters and Collectors, another great Aussie band and some John Cougar Mellencamp, THAT's the really embarrassing bit.

Years ago, in the mid '70's we were living up north, and on one of my husbands business trips south to the big city I asked him to pick me up a workout record (Yeah, LP's in those days).
He came home with one with contemporary music on it as well as the verbal directions to the accompanying workout sheet.
So now I cannot hear those songs without the workout instructions going through my head: "I just want to stop (back up and right over) and tell you how I feel about you babe (back up, stretch upward, then over to the other side)"
Yuk. |

My "warm-up" song is "Here I Go Again On My Own" by Whitesnake.
I don't know why I love this song like I do. But I only listen to it as the warm up for the elliptical machine. After that, it's on. Mostly rap, r&b, and hip hop.
