The comment about the candidate relates specifically to a physical trait unrelated to their qualifications in a public job.
It seems clear enough the comment resulting from that was not directed TO another Bandster, rather used to show the disconnect between what we strive to be, which is "non judgmental" and "as accurate as possible" in our social intercourse.
After 47 pages of interesting points of political view, many of which included the attempt to clarify the intent of "name calling" in a generic example of the irrelevant nature of attributing meaning to physical traits, it would be sad to see this thread locked.
It has been refreshing to have a campaign featuring such an unprecedented field of candidates representing a host of minority status groups.
That some take umbrage where no insult was given, about a remark clearly used as example of physical characteristics, reveals the need for such as our poorly written Americans with Disability Act. And the details of that well intended legislation, is rife with examples of abuse and special interpretation never intended in passage of the Act.
LBT policy is to focus on the merits of the argument.

Does it make a difference if the party being attacked is not present on this board, so that makes it ok? It is soooo obvious what's going on here. [/quote] Now you seem paranoid? Ok I'll go there.
Has anyone checked any polls today. Go look at NBC, Fox, Real Clear Politics. They all have Obama leading and many have him leading over the marjin of error. They were taken after the VP debate and Obama is kicking as............ Check out how well he is doing in Florida, Virigina and Missouri for gods sake. This is why the Ayers and Wright issues are resurfacing. It's throw everything against the wall and see what sticks. Desperate times, desperate messures. Yahoo!!!!

Yahoo!!!! | I find that McCain's campaign is reaching and so condescending especially while he is using Sarah Palin and his wife to do his dirty work. He sits back and shows how far in the gutter he is willing to go to win this campaign. It is sickening! Michelle is a great woman on her own. She rises so far above working towards the betterment of women and would do more for women than both Sarah and Cindy would do together. I base my opinion on their past actions not on the republican rhetoric. Go Obama, we have to make this happen not for the few but for all! |

Barack Obama will make a great president. Just because McCain has more experience does not mean he will be a good leader.

Here's Ms. Coulter's recent article on Sen Biden's remarks: Welcome to AnnCoulter.com

Thanks for the link, Jack, but why would anyone want to hear what Ann Coulter has to say? I guess if they're listening to Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter is probably interesting to them as well. Go figure.
Anyone want to argue about how the color of a person's skin affects a man's ability to be president any more than a person's limited mobility or range of motion in his arms does? If we can discuss one, the other is certainly fair game. Although I would argue against name calling in either case.

Well ulp, gosh Missy G. you ought to listen to Rush. I'll bet you'd find him interesting too. He has a whole lot to say on all kinds of (made up)subjects and he certainly has interesting ways of looking at today's topics. Just as Ann Coulter's way of looking at stuff is interesting. They are certainly great at adult conversation. I'm so relieved that they are around to bring such fascinating viewpoints (lies) to public light.
Golly gee, sarcasm is such fun sometimes!

Well ulp, gosh BJean, no thanks. I'll just listen to you to educate me on all the (made up) subjects and your fascinating viewpoints (lies), and have great adult conversation. Just so I'm straight here, if you disagree with them, they are lying and if you agree, they are telling the truth right? K, just wanted to make sure that is how it works.

No matter which side you're on, I would think it important to know when someone's deliberately lying. Especially since you don't always hear it in the MSM.
