Nooooooo! Half-Blood Prince moved back 8 months!!

Just announced less than 2 hours ago. Warner Brothers is moving the release of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from this November to next July.

My husband is in shock and I'm pretty disappointed too. The "countdown to opening" had just dropped below 100 days, and now this.

Well, by then the theater seats won't be the least bit tight anymore. lol

Outrageous!! But maybe they're filming Deathly Hollows back-to-back or something?

Well, Deathly Hallows is going to be a 2-parter, with the first part coming out in 2010 and the second in 2011. They *will* be shot back to back. According to the press release, this is purely a financial decision...they are expecting Hallows to make more money in the summer than at Thanksgiving. Potterphiles all around the world are very upset.

What a money grab! Why not make the final movie a trilogy? Or an octet? I liked all the previous movie adaptations...I think they should be able to finish it in one movie.

My son is going to be so dissappointed. He was planning his whole 12th birthday around that movie. I will have to break the news to him when he wakes up. At least one of us gets to sleep in.lol

They say it was because I spot opened during the summer that didn't have a big block buster coming out...I think it was because November is the time that daniel radcliffe's play comes out with the nude scene. I think they are giving the controversey some time to cool off.
