I don't think you'll find many people here that a) enjoyed the liquid diets and b) loved it so much they canceled the surgery.
There's some sites though with people doing optifast diets, etc. You might wanna check those out. I found it helpful when I tried the liquid diet alone for 2 months last year.
Good luck and let us know how it's going!

I wish you the best of luck.

However, I was able to lose weight with many different techniques, including the liquid diet method, but none allowed me to keep it off. Maybe that should be rephrased. I never kept the weight off by any diet method and the reason for that is a diet, by its connotative definition is a aberration of eating until we get to a goal, but then what?

We go back to eating "NORMAL" (or normally for the English majors out there) and we gain the weight back. It is like trying to be a recovering alcoholic who after being in recovery for 2 years, says, "I will have a drink just once in a while".

The LAP-BAND® is a tool not just to lose weight, but to keep it off. The "keep it off" part is the more important part and the harder part.

Good luck, no matter what you decide.

Dear Jalasmom,
If you have your head in the right space for the diet thing and it's going well than I say go for it girl, and keep up the good work.
The LAP-BAND® should be one of the last things to do, after all it's surgery! Surgery any surgery Is a big deal. You are not ready for it obviously.
If the time comes that dieting isn't making it there is always surgery, I really think you made the right choice for yourself.
Good luck
