Have you checked out the "Where's the Merry Bandsters of Oregon"?
I'm not in Oregon, but I wanted to welcome you to LBT and congratulate you on getting your band. How are you feeling?

Hello! Welcome to LBT. Have fun searching all the great info here. Good idea to check the Merry Bandsters of Oregon...there are hundreds of posts on that thread, if I remember correctly. And it's in the Oregon forum, too, if I'm not mistaken. Those ones are lots of fun, those merry bandsters. You'll like them alot.
editing....I just checked and it's there in the Oregon forum and there are 97 replies, which is still alot.

Hi Tanya,
I was sitting to your right at the post-op group on 2/9/05 at Good Sam Hospital. My name is Julie and I had not had my surgery yet, but wanted to come and here how things are post op. You had just had a terrible ordeal trying to get a fill.
Well I was approved within 1 week by my insurance but am not having my surgery until March 25th because of work scheduling.
I hope you have begun losing weight now that you had a fill, Is your leg still swollen as much or has it gotten better?
I'd like to hear how you are progressing.
Julie

HI JULIE,
I'm doing good thanks... its great to hear that you were approved WAHOOO.....which Dr. were you going with again??? Jan??? i have Dr Hong,Oh my gosh the next day after my fill i hurt sooooo bad actually after the numb stuff wore off i could tell that they had made ground round in there hehe since i got the fill i actually some days are not hungry then there are days that i can still eat things like always i'm one of the lucky ones soo far i've not gotten anything stuck or haven't had any problem. I go back to the Dr on the 9th and i will see if i've lost any weight by then i'm actually trying to stick to only weighing in when i see the Dr cuz i could be one of those ones that if i don't loose a lb everytime i get on that scales id get all blue soo im trying this for now i pray to god that i've lost but its had in my sitiuation cuz i retain fluid so easy...My leg looks some better thanks for asking.
hope to hear from you again soon take care and congrads on the approval!!!!!!!!!!
are you gonna be at the next meeting on the 9th??? i will be there i'm trying to make my appointments for the day they have the support group cuz we don't have a lap banders group here in Pendleton.
Have a Great Sunday!!!!!!

Tanya:
I'll be in for a fill check up on 3/30 with Dr Hong....
re: bread: I haven't dared to try yet....nor pasta or rice either...but I have found tiny bites on a soda cracker or two with some of my pureed goo is quite satisfying....the wife got some 'water crackers' which did not suit me well, they tended to reduce to a sticky paste in my mouth, adhere to my teeth and I was fearful of getting a starch ball in my Os--or stoma---or whatever we call that little orifice....I call it my "Angle of the Silicon Fist", my own little Symbiant (a la Star Trek fame)....
hope you have marvelous results, each day for me gets better & better....

good luck....
I've got the smaller 4cc band...I've got great restriction about 3/4 of the time....but it's be great from Day 1....probably will be getting fill 3/30....
every day I feel less inclined to poison myself with the crap I used to eat...but still have some fantasies about gulping down great bowls full of everything....
No pasta/bread....yet....I know I don't even miss it OR want it....
I weigh once a week on Monday....we'll see how effective this last weeek has been....I know I'm hungrier more often, but still not more than about 1/4 time...instead of EVERY WAKING MOMENT!!!!

Hi Tanya,
I'm another Oregon girl but down in the Eugene area. I use Dr. Eubanks for fills and really like him a lot. I know there a couple of great support groups up in your area (if you live in Portland). In the Eugene area there is just a few of us that get together and enjoy each others company. Anyway welcome to LBT and hope to get to know you better. Teresa
