Hooray for Minnesota!!
There's plenty of us here....so welcome to the club! Sift through everything with the understanding that each experience is unique, and we all have different highs and lows along the way.
Let's all get skinny together!

| Welcome/Questions about fill Glad to have you. You'll find that you're in good company with this site. It's so informative and supportive.
I wanted to say "hi I'm back" to all my band buddies in MN. I haven't been posting much lately but have been checking in once in awhile. I finally got my first fill last week. I received 2cc's. I'm down 5 pounds more which was so nice to see since I was holding steady at 30 pounds since post op (surgery Oct. 11/2005) and was getting so anxious about wanting to lose more.
The fill has been interesting..... trying to figure out if maybe I'm over filled since a couple of days I hardly could get anything down including liquids but a couple of other days I managed more- even solids. Does this sound similiar to others experience? How long did it take others to really know what to expect from the fill, or will it continue to always be different each day?
Thanks for the help bandsters! Welcome to all the newbies. Now that I got my fill I feel like now I'm finally back into the game. It's nice to be moving ahead. shanmnband

Hey Shan...I've been banded since June 16th, 2005...by the way...
To all computer guru's...how do you put the ticker and stuff, on the bottom of your profile? I don't know how! With fills,,, of course you're supposed to stick to liquids at first anyway...but then I always kind of do the soups, liquidy stuff, till I feel like I can eat. But in this experience, I've discovered, it's hard to tell if i can eat from day to day...somedays I'm like "wow, I got a lot more down than normal.." Other days...I feel like I couldn't eat five bites...it's like closer to my period, I can't eat much...it's weird, and it makes it harder to decide if I need another fill or not. If anyone's got some helpful advice, it sure is welcomed....

Hi, and welcome! It's fun to have others from our state participate. I'm a month out from surgery and am doing well, I think. I get a little concerned about the amount I'm eating...I drink a protein shake for breakast, eat about a cup of food for lunch and a cup of food for dinner. Occasionally it feels like a little much...just a little bit of that over full feeling...but usually it's fine. Does that sound like a reasonable amount for someone who hasn't had a fill yet? I've been reading about pouches stretching and certainly don't want to create problems!
Any feedback would be appreciated!
Emily

Welcome and congratulations on your new band. I'm just over two months post op but I found at around 5 weeks my swelling from surgery had went down and I was able to eat a little more. I had my first fill at around 7 weeks post op ( 1cc ). Hope this helps!!
