I'm so excited! I just found out that my Lap Band surgery is scheduled for Tuesday, December 23rd! Less than two weeks away.
Dr. Billing from Moose Lake is doing my surgery. I started my pre-op diet on Tuesday, and so far, so good. I can do anything for two weeks.
I'm still a little concerned about insurance, as I don't have approval yet, but they have assured me it shouldn't be a problem. I don't think I'll relax until I wake up from surgery and they tell me everything went okay.

Hey Mel,
I am not too far behind you...surgery is Jan 19. I don't have to start my diet until after the new year. Jitters haven't kicked in yet, but I'm sure the closer the date gets, the jitters will appear. I have lived and breathed this process since May and I finally got approval the day before Thanksgiving. Sure did make me thankful too!
Good luck on your surgery. Looking forward to hearing all about your experience.
I met Dr. Billings for the first time today...I had my EGD and manometry done. My manometry showed my esophagus isn't working as it should, so I have to take some stronger GERD medication and have the manometry done again in a month. Doesn't that sound like fun?
I was too upset to think about what will happen if it doesn't work properly next time, but I am encouraged that he had me continue on with my pre-op appointments.

I'm sorry! That sucks. I hated the manometry test, I hope I never have to do it again! My nose was running, my eyes were watering, and I think I "dry" swallowed WAY too much. I was a mess. I think I'd rather have 5 EGD's. Which test did you do first? I wonder if its better to have the egd first.
I had some bad news today too-one of the tests I had done last week came back slightly abnormal. So I have to go back tomorrow morning to have another test done. I have no idea if this will delay my surgery or not, I hope not, but I sure am worried about it!
On the other hand, I also found out today that my insurance approved the surgery! What a rollar coaster ride.
I hope your next test comes out perfect and the month goes by fast!
Yahoo! You got the approval from your insurance company!:D That's awesome.
I totally understand your wild turn of emotions...good news then something that scares you and you start the worry wagon in motion.
I'm just trying to think positive about this esophagus thing. From the research I've done I think that if it continues, I may not be able to get a band, and the RNY is not an option I will consider.
Lets just keep the positive vibes going for ourselves and each other!
