I have Farhan right now. I am 1 week from my surgery. S far, everyone has been nice. I have no idea about the hospital yet. Although I was there to get my pre op testing done and everyone I met was very nice.
I believe the woman you see at the top of this page AKA Boo Boo Kitty had Dr. Farhan also.
Don't get scared. Hurley Bariatrics has a pretty good rep. Insurance process is the wors prt about it, lol.
Snuffy,
How did surgery at Hurley go? Did you like Dr. Farhan? I'm in the process of getting approved and Dr. Farhan will be my surgeon.
Thanks,
maggie
Dr. Farhan was good. He answered all my questions and he seem to have done a good job with the surgery. Hurley overall have been great also. I go in for my first fill Aug 4th, weeeeeee!
I am a Hurley Bandster. I was banded on Oct 3, o7. Dr. Wagoner was my surgeon and he is the greatest. Dr Farhan is also the greatest. I love going to the Flint Bariatric Center. I can't say enough. Keep in touch and let me know how you are doing.
Hi All
I have my surgery Monday the 25th up at Hurley. I am now getting very scared. Can you tell me what they did to you after surgery? And before surgery, did you stay over night please give me the details!!!!
I have never had surgery before.

If you are having Lap Band surgery it is a piece of cake. I too was very scared but it wasn't as bad as I thought. Yes I had to stay just over night but it wasn't that bad. After your IV is started the nurse will give you something to relax you. You will be taken to a holding area where you stay until the Dr is ready for you and then they will take you to the surgery room. I remember scooting over onto the surgery table but I didn't care. Thats where the medicine they give you through your IV comes in handy. Next thing you know you will be waking up and it is all over. Other than the nurses drawing your blood after a few hours that is the worst or maybe having my finger pricked to check my sugar that is a little uncomfortable. You will need to walk walk walk after surgery to get rid of the gas pains from having surgery which is where they blow your abdomen up with gas so the dr can get in there to do the surgery. You will be fine and believe me I love my band. I have lost 93lbs since my surgery Oct 3 2007. Hang in there and keep in touch. There are plenty of people to support you on this site. Good Luck
