Hi Everyone,
Quick question for you. I have a pain in my left side underneath the band incision. Dr. Schneider put the port right above my belly button, so it's not the port.
I've seen Dr. Schneider several times (like a big sissy) worrying that I'd torn something inside. He says not to worry and I trust him.
My question is, for those of you that have the band in, how long was it before you could bend over and tie your shoes, or sleep on your stomach? I'm eager for this pain to go away. It's fairly sharp and pronounced, and really irritating.
Thanks,
John

Hey, I am a belly sleeper! It was so frustrating for the first 2 weeks. I've just gotten where I can sleep on belly. After a week a was sleeping on my sides though with a pillow in front of belly for cushion. Seemed to work. I do have occasional pain though in left abdomen across from belly button. Not really sure what that's about. One thing for sure, If you are a tosher and a turner....do it slowly. I thought I'd pulled something one time. Seemed like I turned but my insides were a little slower. I'm fine though. Just keep lots of pillows in bed w/ you is the best advice I can give.

I just saw my doctor for the same reason. He said it was totally normal and not to worry. He also said that the spot that I was pointing to could be where the sutures are and if he tied them too tight, I will feel it for a couple of months when I bend or turn the wrong way. I am about 3 week post op and have just started feeling normal again. The pain in my side is going away more and more every day. I can now tie my shoes and sleep on my stomach again......Thank God!!!!! Hope this helps!!!! Good luck!

i went through the same thing and dr. jones told me that sometimes scar tissue develops inside and needs to be stretched out. the pain went away after a week or so and i've had no more since then! we get so sensitive to every little thing while we are healing that i think it seems worse than it is. stop worrying and if it's still around in a month talk to the dr. again
good luck!
