edited: I just called them and talked to a person named Jill at the Surgery Center.
Over the phone she quoted me:
Facility: $7800.00
Physician: $3300.00
Anesthesia: $ 825.00
Fills: $FREE
________
$11,925 (Still better than those local in KC)
When I questioned her about insurance and preop blood work she transfered me up to the business office and they were at lunch so I didn't leave a message.
I am being banded at Tallgrass on Monday, Feb. 5! My insurance is covering it, so I can't help with the cost question, but I do have to tell you that EVERYONE on their staff there is more than helpful, and they have taken the time to answer any question I've had very thoroughly.
If you haven't been to one of their informational seminars, get to one as soon as possible. When you go, you'll get an information packet to take home, and when you make the decision to act on the information you've been given, you'll have a form to fill out and a pre-addressed envelope to mail it in. That gets the ball rolling!

I had my Lap Band surgery on March 17, 2008, just 2 1/2 weeks ago. I was self-pay. The total cost for everything was about $14,500. That included the fee for the surgeon, anethestia, Tallgrass Surgery Center, and lab work. It also covers two years of follow-up visits. I'm expecting my first fill on April 28. My doctor is Dr. Hu. I really like her. She took a great amount of time to talk to me and explained both the RNY and Lap Band procedures along with pros and cons of each. I attended an informational seminar in January, had my first consultation visit in February, and surgery in March. I'm still recovering, but have not had any complications. I would highly recommend the Surgery Center over the hospital. The cost was much less and they were wonderful there. Prompt, curtious, respectful, caring. I've lost 10 pounds (haven't updated my ticker yet). 9 on the pre-op liquid diet and one since surgery. I'm a lower BMI patient (37), so I did not expect to loose weight as quickly as someone who starts out heavier. Anyway, it's been a good experience and I would highly recommend Tallgrass and the Tallgrass Surgery Center.

Congrats on your banding! Where they helpful with the insurance process or did you have to do that on your own? How can I sign up for a seminar? I looked on the web did not see anything. How are you feeling now?
