Smile Hello

Hey Erica,
I have my first appointment with Dr. Lopez on Tues Oct 18. I very nervous about it, but looking forward to starting this process rolling.

Were you happy with Dr. Lopez?

Elizabeth :)

I am from KS also. Just went to a seminar this week. Husband went with me. They had 5 patients there that had weight loss surgery. Only one was a bander. She had lost 20lbs in 3 months I think. Seemed kinda slow to me. Is that a normal weight loss for that time period? The others had gastric bypass and RouinY (something like that) and had lost SO MUCH more. But that sounds so invasive. I prefer the Lap Band because its not as invasive. I have to fill out my paper work and get sent in now to start the process. I need to check in here more often for encouragement. Anyone used the Bariatric Ctr at Shawnee Msn???

Hi, I went to a seminar at the same place. I have choose to go with Dr. Malley in Overland Park. He said that many of the RnY Patients end up getting banded because it has a more long term success rate. Yes, the weight loss is slower, however, since the band is adjustable, it has a higher rate of long term success. Hope that helps.

Dr. Lopez

I have an appointment tomorrow (12/6) for my pre-op with Dr. Lopez. I have been waiting for 6 months to get the approval from my insurance. It was good to read positive things about Dr. Lopez. I had started with Dr. Malley and am now with Dr. Lopez. I have not met him and was wondering what you or anyone can tell me about him.

Dr. Jesse Lopez

I was banded with Dr. Lopez and had my first fill yesterday. I think he is very nice and very helpful. His staff is very nice also. I have only good things to say so far about Dr. Lopez and his staff. Also no complications or pain after surgery.

Having my surgery w/ Dr. Lopez tomorrow! I have not been impressed w/ Midwest Institute of Bariatric Surgery and am very glad Dr. Lopez has went out on his own! His nurse has been so helpful and he was really awesome. DH and I spent about an hour w/ him last week and I'm totally comfortable going into this!

I'm having mine at Minora Medical Center. Don't want to spend the night but if that's the biggest concern I have I'd say it's all a go! lol!

Would enjoy chatting w/ all of you or meeting something in the city to say hello! A support system is so important!
