Finding the Right Dr.

I have been researching the lap band surgery for the last 6 months. I still haven't decided which Dr. I should consider. I have attended several seminars offered by several different physicians. Any opinions about your physician would be appreciated.

Where are you located? I used www.obesityhelp.com and www.inamed.com . I also googled the docs I was considering. Hope this info is helpful and best of luck to you. :)

I am located in South Kansas City. I have been researching Dr. Kaniewski and Dr. Lopez.

My band was done by Dr. Malley and I have been very satisified with him and his staff. Another source of information is the local band support group. Their web site is http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/KCBandsters/
I also found out that Dr. Opie with Midwest Surgical Association in Olathe will start doing bands this month.

I live in Missouri, about 30 mins from KS and I chose Dr. Hoehn to do my surgery. This is after 3+ years of researching surgeons, and several personal recommendations for him from people I trust. I didn't pick him because he was local, I was prepared to fly to CA for my 2nd choice surgeon. It just so happened he was local.
