State: Delaware | I hope you had a great vacation! Where did you go?
366, I'm thinking about you today. Drop a note when you can to let us know how you are feeling.
I'm struggling right now with the repercussions from having a "false sense of security" from losing so well at the beginning. I let the salty, crunchy snacks creep back into my routine. And I'm a little out of control. I try to stick to stuff that's better for me, like soy chips or nuts, but it's still wasted calories and is slowing me down. I think I'm still losing, but slowly. I also can't seem to make it to the gym more than once or twice a week. On the plus side, I've been making my DH show up to watch the kids during their swim lesson so that I can swim laps. I've never done laps for exercise before, I'm really enjoying it!

State: del.. uh.. where? | I'm home! I'm alive!
Thanks to all for your well wishes. Surgery was textbook, however for some reason I was in recovery for over 2 hours. Not sure why.
Hospital stay was not fun. I hate hospitals!! I had a lot of trouble walking on Friday b/c I got very dizzy and nauseous. I could barely make it to the door without feeling so sick. Saturday was a lot better. I had my gastrografin study (yuck! but only 4 sips so not THAT bad) and they started me on clear liquids.
HOWEVER, they only let me drink 2oz/hour on Saturday. Is that normal???
I wasn't released until almost 7pm on Saturday b/c my temp was 99.4. Finally got home and had a shower (yay!). I slept well on Sat night.
I stayed on clears yesterday until dinner, when I had some blended/strained cream of chicken soup. It felt really good to "eat." I even sat at my dining room table! I felt normal again.
I've had some.. erm.. bathroom issues. I wanted to ask you all about.. is it normal for number 2 to be all liquid right now???
A lot of gurgling going on in my belly still. I am sure this is normal.
That's my update for now! I'm going to enjoy some sugarfree carnation instant bf now

State: Delaware | Welcome home, 366! Glad things are going well.
Potty problems are completely normal. In fact, I think mine got worse. It started out as liquid, then went to explosive liquid (don't stray too far from a potty, and be careful thinking it's "just gas"), then I got really constipated. If your journey was like mine, don't expect to be normal any time soon. Sorry. You might want to buy some benefiber. It dissolves really well and doesn't clump up like some other brands. It will help both ends of the potty spectrum.
Get some rest. Remember that the pain will get a little worse for about 5 days, but then you will start feeling better rapidly. That's completely normal, too. So is left shoulder pain.
Remember, walk, walk, walk! You are lucky that the weather is so nice right now.

State: Delaware | I'm sitting here all suited up to go to the gym, and my 3 year old daughter is still asleep! How frustrating.
I am rapidly losing my window of opportunity here. If I'm not at the gym at 10:00, I won't make it home in time. I watch my sister's children, and they get here around 11:45. They leave at 1:30, which doesn't give me enough time before picking my son up at 3:00. Then we start the homework battle/dinner/bedtime routine, which makes it almost impossible to fit 2 hours in for going to the gym after school. And tonight we have a school picnic at 5:00, so I don't even think I could fit it in if I wanted to brave homework after his meds have worn off.
Arrrrgghhhhh!
The good news is, that I have finally gotten to the point where I _want_ to go to the gym. That's kind of cool, I guess. But I'm still frustrated.
Hopefully things will get better in a few days. My son's last day is the 6th, then we'll have a week before summer school (he's mildly autistic (Aspergers), and in the autism program, thus automatically qualifies for summer school.) It's a slightly shorter school day, and I'm hoping that summer school is lighter on the homework so that we can go after school.
Well, it's now 9:45. DD is still asleep. I missed my window. Guess I'll go take a shower and wash my hair. *sigh* Maybe I'll drag the kids & dogs around the block later. Not exactly a power walk, but they'll enjoy it.

City: Newark State: Delaware | after surgery and exercise 366 - as for gas and bathroom issues totally normal. I agree with Fairysaddle... need to get benefiber if have issues with constipation. and also, don;'t think it is only gas!!!!
Walking is great for any gas pains. and yes, you may feel worse before you feel better. After about 2 weeks I felt ok, but was lucky to be off work for a total of 3.5 weeks.
Fairysaddle - not getting to the gym when you really look forward to it is tough. I missed my walking Sunday AM and made myself gop to the "Y" in the afternoon. Actually ended up working out for over an hour!!!!!

City: Newark State: Delaware | Hi Folks,
Hi Dr. Wynn. It's the great big guy, you helped Dr. Irgau with on April 2nd. I was in for my 2nd fill today. You two did a wonderful job. The 2nd fill did the trick and I finally know what it's like to have a one ounce capacity. It feels almost like when you eat dry chicken, or potatoes and it won't go down. I guess that's what it is supposed to feel like. I ate some chicken soup and drank it down fairly quickly, saving the carrots and chicken for last. I was able to eat a couple of tablespoons full, then again a half hour later.
Hi 366, that's what I weighed today too. I was 402.5 before the two day clear liquid pre-op phase. I lost it all in the first month, but have been stuck for a month, waiting for this fill to work. The first accomplished little, but this one seems to be just right.

City: Newark State: Delaware | Sorry, I thought that was Dr. Wynn's signature, but I see that she was your surgeon. I've got a lot to learn about this forum. I'm in two pen turner's forums and they both work so differently. Anyway, I'm in Newark and was done two months ago today.

State: Delaware | Welcome, BigRob! Congratulations. It sounds like you are doing pretty amazing, even with the 1 month stall. That was one heck of a weight loss for a month.

City: Newark State: Delaware | Hello All :) Hey Guys,
Just wanted to send a quick hello and see how everyone is doing? I have been so busy now that I am finally feeling a little better that I have been doing alot of stuff around the house and working out kind of on my own.
I got a Wii the last week and the Fit Board and can't seem to stop myself from playing it. It is such a good workout out that 2 - 3 hours go by and you are sweating to death but having a blast! I could hardly move yesterday because I over did it this weekend. I felt like a little kid at Christimas just waiting to get up and use it...LOL Whatever gets you motivated I guess.
Sounds like everyone is doing good. Keep up the good work and I hope to see you all soon. Do you guys know when the clothes swap is? I am so ready to unload this stuff...my house is way to small for this stuff.
Keep it up,
Paige |

City: Newark State: Delaware | was wondering what happened to you. last I heard you had gotten a fill on Friday and then nothing from you. hoipe there have been no complications.
Check some of my past posts. I listed the next few group sessions at CHRIAS and the topics. clothes swap was listed for 2 dates.
I donated lots of my clothes to a women's shelter, but still have more each week.

City: Newark State: Delaware | I think I still need more fill, but it's finally working again. I'm down 4-1/2 more pounds since my fill on Monday. Part of that was from eating too many nuts............................ I also just got back from a killer workout and did some gardening today. Man, is my back sore. I broke it in 1982 and wiped out 3 discs, breaking up a fight in a juvenile detention center (I was a care worker aka youth rehab. counsellor). I have to be careful how I stress my back. One of the main reasons I got the lap band, was so my back wouldn't have to work so hard to keep me upright.

City: Easton State: Maryland | Hi Everybody,
I'm pretty new to the thread. I haven't been banded yet. I just returned from my final nutrition class. I can't be scheduled for surgery until Oct, that's when my 6 months is up. In Aug, I attend the life skills classes. Has anybody attended them??? The time seems to be going by so slowly. My doctor is Dr. Peters. Has anybody had him as their doctor???
