Low Fat Low Carb

I'm looking for recipes or suggestions for low fat low carb items. I don't do well on carbs but it seems most things that are low carb are high fat and low fat high carbs. I find that if I eat more than about 20 gms my weight loss comes to a stand still. Anyone ideas?

I am afraid I have had to just wing it. I have found it very difficult to find recipes that are both low in carbs and fat as well. It seems the whole world is eother one or the other, no wonder there is such an obesity problem! I just cook simple meals these days, If I use any fat in cooking it's olive oil, I use brown rice for the rest of the family and chicken or fishand veggies. I use fat free salad dressing, you can make your own even with a little vinegar and olive oil. I tend to use a lot of herbs and seasonings to give flavor to my cooking rather than frying it or sauteeing it. If you are not good with throwing different seasonings together you can get the packets in the grocery store and they are great to add to any meat or veggies and add great flavor. Hope this helps :)

I make things with ground turkey instead of ground beef. The fat is lower in ground turkey.

Its going to be hard because not only will things tend to be higher fat, its more likely to be saturated fat.

I'd avoid too much cheese, and if you're not worried about cholesterol, eggs are a better bet and of course you can always eat the whites.

Nuts are good fat, but there might be too many carbs in them for you.

Protein shakes, tuna, salmon, (most any fish), turkey, ground turkey, salads with select veggies, select fruits, crackers made of low fat cheese, egg whites, asparagus, seafood, venison, lots of things. Try doing a google search for "low fat low carb" and see what you get.

Another thought....if you fry ground hamburger or turkey, try rinsing it in a colander under hot water to remove some more of the grease. It really works well and doesn't really change the taste.

Is the low carb friends website one on here? Southbeach does stress low carb and low fat. You're right about that! I wish I knew more about the core program. I have only heard of counting points and it sounds confusing to me.
