way to go CIndy.
I pretty much just keep a count of carbs in my head throughout the day. I know when I've had too much.. I have to watch snacking. I am a snacker.
Today.....
Biggest Loser Body Sculpting DVD
B - Skipped
L - 2 slices brisket
S - 2 oz cheese
D - 2 slices brisket, cauliflower, and Atkins crustless cheesecake with the strawberries (YUMMY!!)
S - coffee with SF french vanilla creamer
Sonic Route 44 unsweet tea. I sip on this all day to get my fluids in. I figure unsweet tea is not much more than colored water.

Wish me luck!
I am going to Chicago for a few days and I am having Chicago Deep Dish pizza tomorrow night. I am hoping I will only eat one slice (which is way more than my daily carb allowance!) Maybe I can just eat the toppings??? I am really going to stick to the plan as much as possible because I was to be down to 240 be the end of July. Its in my PLAN!
The fat girl in me keeps saying "you will NEVER have chicago pizza after the band...just enjoy it ONE LAST TIME!" but the skinny girl in me says "You will never make your goal if you keep giving in to eating bad one last time"
If I don't talk to you before Friday...have a great 4th of July! Lets try to be in ketosis again by Monday if any of us fall off the wagon for the holiday.

I am new to this bulletin board and this is my first post. I was banded on June 2, 2008.
After reading this thread I have been inspired by all of your efforts and accomplishments. I am anxious to start trying to be more low carb and hope it works. How do the sticks work? I've never tried a low carb diet until now and want to make sure that I'm doing it right.

Hi Jackie!
Welcome to our low carb group! In order to get into ketosis you need to cut carbs back about 20 or less for a few days and after about 3 days your stick will show you in some form of ketosis. After that you can go up to, but no more than 30 carbs a day. Atleast thats what I have done. Many days I get barely over 20 in to stay in high level of ketosis. I am obsessed and I check my sticks every morning (which btw, is the best time of the day to check it---first morning pee!)
You can buy at Atkins diet book or look up more specific details online. I mostly eat meat, eggs, cheese, salad, and I use low carb tortilla wraps (called Flat-Outs in the deli section) I also drink protein shakes too.
Good luck with low carb. Its hard to stick to sometimes but the results are sooo worth it!

Hope everyone has had a great day low carbing it.
Here is what I ate today:
B: McD's Scrambled Eggs & Sausage patty
S: McD's ice coffee with cream & 3 splenda
L: 3 oz of roast beef with homemade gravy & 1.5 cups of tossed salad with Ken's Ceasar
D: I ate so late I am playing by ear tonight...if hungry 3oz of Turkey Sausage & Salad
S: Almonds & Atkins Crustless Cheesecake
I did my 1 hour of water aerobics this morning before work...my legs are killing me today.
Have a great rest of the day everyone! You can do it. I can't believe how good I feel. No cravings at all yet.
Cindy

I added 2 photo albums to my profile. One is inspiration for me...what I looked like before I gained 110 pounds. The other is what I look like now---my before pics---yikes!

Bonnie - I totally agree with Renewed! You are a beautiful lady at both sizes. I only wish I had some "skinny" pics to show. I have always been big.
Well I totally went off the deep end yesterday. I ate SO much crap! My husbands cousin passed away yesterday and it was a sad sad day. He was only 35. Cancer... *sigh* Not that it was a good excuse to eat crap, but I'm using it! ha! Today was much better. I was a good Atkins girl.
I also just have to share... We went shopping today because I needed some clothes for the funeral. I have been wearing my huge clothes and just being too cheap to buy anything else. Well, I bought a pair of size 16 pants today. A 16 is the smallest I have ever worn for my entire adult life! I was in high school last time I wore that size. YEAH!

Hi y'all!
I have stumbled across this thread at the perfect time! I have been seriously considering changing my diet to low carb and what an incentive now to have some support with it!!
I need to get some ketostix and get my pantry filled so I can get started. I know it is difficult but after really only maintaining since my slip repair I am ready to start making progress again. I just got a fill that I think may finally get me the restriction I need.

Bonnie, thanks for the information. I'm going to start the low carb today.
Mamato, congrats on the new size. I'm sure it was a wonderful feeling when you put the outfit on. Keep up the good work.
