I am getting banded tomorrow. Is there anyone from Dallas Tx. I live in Coppell. Would love to ... | Lap Band Buddies / Mentors (NEW!) A buddy/mentoring relationship pairs a successful and experienced LBT member with a novice and/or struggling LBT member. The purpose is to support one another as each person works through the physical, emotional, and spiritual components involved in weight loss. The goal is to get to a healthy weight and stay there. This is a win-win relationship as the successful LBT member is able to reaffirm his/her weight loss and the novice or struggling LBT member is supported in building the confidence and motivation necessary to achieve his/her desired goals. |

Hi! I live in McKinney, TX and work in Dallas!
I was banded in March, and so far things are going well. It has certainly been an exciting journey so far.

Now I'll finally admit this....starting weight 469, today (06/08/09) a very proud 146! Twenty more pounds and I'll weigh less than I did at birth!

I am suddenly feeling a great support structure around me.
I am getting banded through TCL Edge by Dr. Victor Gonzalez from Center for Obesity Surgery, Dallas tomorrow morning around 7.30 - 8.00 am.
Little nervous about tomorrow.

I am so glad I found ya'll!!! I know I will have tons of questions as the date gets closer and especially after my pre-op on Tuesday.
Take care and if you have any pointers you want to share that would make my pre-op go smoother please feel free to share... I have already cut out all fast food, soft drinks, sweets, I drink slim fast for breakfast, no pasta, very little bread (if any)... eating steamed veggies and grilled meats... trying to eat what I will be eating or what I think I will be eating after surgery now so it won't be such a shock after the surgery..
Of course I have 2 restaurants I have to visit before my big day.. Joe T. Garcias and my favorite chinese restaurant in Irving...

I live in McKinney and work in Dallas as well. I just completed all of my pre-op appts yesterday and will be banded on 6/24/08. I just started my full liquid pre-op diet and I will need all the support I can get as well!

You can do it! I didn't think i was going to make it through the post-op liquid phase, and now when I look back on it, I forget how long it really was! You will be through it before you know it!:biggrin2:
