Help - my pouch is dilated!!!

Can anyone share their experience with a dilated pouch?
I had my last fill about a month ago and it was way too tight. I figured, ok, since I'm a slow looser this tight fill will work well for me. It didn't. I ended up vomiting anything solid up and sometimes even liquids...I was stupid and thought being a little "bulimic" won't be so bad. I carried on for a month like this. Well, today is my birthday and I just had to go in with all this vomiting and heartburn at night. Sure enough, the fluoro showed that my pouch has more than doubled. The nurse did a complete unfill and put me on liquids for 2 weeks. ON MY 48th BIRTHDAY !!!!\
She said that 90% of cases shrink their pouch back by being on liquids. Has ANYONE had this experience ( or not ).???
PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
PS
My surgery was a year ago and I have now lost 37 lbs.

BonJosie, sorry to hear about your trouble. I haven't had this trouble but, from everything I've read and the discussions I've had with my provider....it is true that being on liquids for a while will help reduce your pouch in size again.

I have never experienced it personally either. But, another lady I converse with regularly had a similiar experience. Her doctor put her on a liquid only diet for seven days and that resolved the problem for her.

Hopefully everything will work out as well for you, please keep us posted.

I came across your post today...just in time. I see that you posted this about two weeks ago. I was wondering if you have been back for your follow up? If so...how did it go.

I too am experiencing a slipped band. I went for a fill yesterday 7/13 and my doc wants me on liquids for 7days and a recheck next week. I am praying that this works. Day two of liquids and so far so good (i mean I haven't cheated). I want this to work so bad as surgery is not an option for me. I was self pay!! I would love to hear back from you regarding your experience.

I am in the same boat. I just came fromthe doctor and I have a bulging esophagus. My doctor took out some fill and told me I had to eat small meals of only 5oz per meal and hope my esophagus shrinks or I have to have my band removed. I too have had my band on for over a year and only lost 30 pounds. I am very interested in anyone who has been through this experience!!!

LET ME KNOW!

Was wondering how things are going with your unfill. I too had to be unfilled due to dilation and my surgeon says that although my pouch has gone way down it is still enlarged and that I have a slip and need revision surgery. Naturally I am worried about losing my band if they are unable to replace it.
