Just letting all of you new bandsters of Dr Blackstone know that's its now taking up to 4 months to get a 2nd fill. And as it was the Dr thought that my progress was good and since I have a sinus infection and will most likely be on meds he didn't think it was a good idea to fill me. Argh, I could scream. They said they'd put me on "the list". Well, I'll become the squeek in the wheel that needs oil when I have to. My experience has been really good up till now.

I was worried about that! When I asked they said with the new Doc coming this May that that will help...they said it was because the band has become so popular....Not good news...hope your sinus infection gets better...did they treat you for that or do you have to go to your primary?

Just wanted to add myself to the list of AZ bandsters. I had my surgery on 2-18-08. It was done by Dr. Rob Schuster from Banner Gateway Bariatric. I've been very happy with him and everyone at the office. I never have a problem getting a appointment at a time that works for me, they have been on time except for 1 time when he had an emergency surgery and everything was covered by my UHC insurance except for the deductible and max out of pocket garbage. Anyone else go through this office? Gonna go read the rest of the thread now to see if I can answer my own question - LOL

I lost 18 lbs before my pre-op diet. Then during 2 weeks pre-op diet and 2 weeks post-op I lost 28.5 lbs. That was on 3-4-08 and I'm dying to know how much more I've lost. :)
The whole process took me several months because I had to have 6 months of documented weight loss attempt and then I got delayed due to them closing Banner Mesa and moving it to the new hospital, Banner Gateway. During the move it changed tax IDs and showed as out of network for me, so I had to wait until after January 1st.
Hope all goes well for you. It feels so great to be able to see the difference so fast.

Hello veterans,
Just a first timer browsing the pages. I have decided to have the surgery after endless research and pondering. I have met with two different offices and have decided to go with WLIA in Tempe. Does anyone have any experience with Dr. Orris and DeBarros?
Thanks

Good Luck to you Boston1...I can't give any info on the docs... sorry....
Ezma...you are doing great!!! Keep it up...I have been working hard all year but the last few days have not been my best...I think I am stressed waiting to hear...no excuse, I know but anyway...I wouldn't be in this situation if I was always "on" plan....MY "off's" were mild compared to not on any plan :)
So Happy Easter ya'll and hang in there!

Thanks | Hi Boston!
I got your PM and answered you before I saw this post.
I, too, met with a few docs before deciding where to go. This is a big decision and you need to be comforatable you've made the right one.
I had my Lap Band surgery with them and they have been great.
Good luck on your journey! Looking forward to meeting you!
