How will I know if my incisions are healing correctly ?

It is normal to have redness and bruising and even some scant drainage from a fresh incision. Follow your surgeon’s instructions for care of the incisions. Post-operative infections are NOT common but if you begin to feel feverish, notice a smell or increased drainage from one (or more) of the incisions, or the incision becomes very red, hot to the touch, etc., CALL YOUR SURGEON and follow the instructions he/she gives you.
