Smile Why can't we have sugar post-op?

Not that I have a sweet tooth but I was wondering if is just because of the calories or because the body is sensitive to it afterward or we can never eat any sugar ever again.
I am just waiting for insurance approval now and the doc said I may have surgery next month in April. I can't wait to get banded.
I love this site and I'm getting so much good info.

I think you need to avoid the calories. I eat sugar and have no ill effects.

You might have to avoid sugar if you had an RNY or a DS, but I am unaware of sugar issues with the band.
