So, my surgery is scheduled for 7/9. I now have a sore throat. I hope it's just allergies. I don't feel sick...yet anyway. I don't think I can go through another postponement again. My original surgery was for 5/21. That had to be canceled because of an abscessed tooth. I really hope I'm not getting sick. I just feel like screaming right now.

I understand what you are going through. I am waiting for my surgery on July 16th and the doctor's office called and said my white blood count was high and needed to repeat it next week before surgery. The only thing I have is a sinus infection and a tooth that part of the filling fell out of. I went to the dentist today and it is not infected but she has me on antibiotics just in case so it won't before surgery. My primary care doctor has me on another antibiotic and steriod dose pack for my sinus infection and feels with me taking both antibiotics my blood test should be okay. I hope so. Keep in touch. I hope we have our surgeries as scheduled.
I followed a similar course preop. Started with a cough but I didn't feel sick. I self treated with Amoxil preop just to make sure and ended up with thrush post op. I think the combination of the oral antibiotics and the hospital IV antibiotics that everyone gets during surgery caused the thrush. Not a huge deal, but an aggrivation and somewhat painful.
