This is common. It's part trauma, part anesthesia, part recovery, and probably a pinch of psychology.
I was banded almost 13 months ago and my appetite has never returned.

Diana, just take it slow and sip away. You will feel better in a few days. The hunger may never return. Good luck.

Just enjoy that "not wanting to eat" sensation. I had that when I first came out of surgery for a few days.
Once everything started to heal up, that went away pretty fast.
Drink your water - but don't worry... you can't possibly starve to death in a few days.

I didnt want to put anything in my mouth for the first few days and had to FORCE myslef to drink liquids. And,,I dont care if i EVER taste chicken broth or beef broth again as long as i live,,hahahhahaha
Seriouslyyyyyyyyyyyy,,,i survived on Crystal Lite with Beneprotein in it Maybe try some defac coffee,,unswet ice tea,,sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles too. Those popsicles really hit the spot with me! All those things were on the list my physician/dietician gave me.
Good luck,,hang in there,,this too shall pass!!!!!!!!!!

I had my surgery on 3/14, and I feel the exact way. I don't know what to eat and I can't get much in without the fullness feeling & belching.

It is normal for the early days post op to not have much of a appetite. Do not force it,K? Just read up on your nutritional guidelines and be ready for when you get a bit hungry so that you can sip juice or tea or whatever. All is well with you.

Hi,
I was banded on 3/14, and I am running into difficulty on the liquid diet, I don't know what to drink, eat. My diet consists of cream wheat very liquid, sugar free jello, sugar free popsicles, myoplex protein drink, water, chicken broth, not much of anything else. I feel like I am going to faint

Lamia, how much protein are you getting in? If you want to try mixing some powder with your Cream of Wheat. I find that protein is the secret ingredient along with lots of water.
