Congrats on having the surgery! I just completed my physic evaluation and met with the dietician... now I wait to hear from insurance. I am in houston, also... what doctor are you seeing? I am seeing Garth Davis.

The first few days on liquid were the hardest for me. If you can make it 2-3 days the hunger goes away after that, or it did for me. Congratulations on your surgery date. I had my surgery March 13th at Journeylite in houston, dr. collier is my dr. We are all here to give each other support

Thanks for the support!!!

Great!!!! Dr. Garth Davis is my doctor too!!!!! He's GREAT!!!! The process went really fast. I had to do a 3 month pre diet for insurance purposes, but all in all it was smooth. April 16th is the big day!!!! Hope everything goes quick for you too!!

The diet isn't so bad. I enjoyed not cooking for myself even though I did still cook for my family. :) You'll be fine. Take stool softeners if you aren't a milk drinker. I discovered I was lactos intolerant and had a lot of trouble going to the bathroom. Good luck! You can do it.

Thumbs up

I just had my surgery on 3/19/08 and I did pretty well on pre-op diet drank lots of slim fast low carb and ate a lot of protien. I am in houston too I went to True Results Dr. Hollis. Have you joined the houston bandsters? If not it is www.health.groups.yahoo.com/group/houstonareabandsters. It is a great site and they have groups all over Houston that meet regularly. Good luck to everbody on their surgery and to their great sucesses

Hi, I just got banded on March 25th and have another week to go of the liquid diet. What worked for me was the protein shakes, low sodium broth-the warmth of it made me feel good, and a lot of diet jello-you can eat a whole lot of that for very little calories and has some protein. If you find you are ready to eat a table leg or something, get up and do something-cleaning, etc., gets your mind off your stomach for a bit. Good luck!

whaletail: Keep in touch, I would like to hear how your surgery goes with Dr. Davis. He's a really nice doctor... I feel comfortable with him and his staff. I'm just curious to see how things go for you! Good Luck!
