Question New to the Circuit!

Hello All!!!

This is my first time on the site....it sure is good to be here! Hope everyone is doing well. As for me, I'm not quite sure if I'm glad I did the band. Some days I am....some days I'm not. This is my problem, and any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I had my LAP-BAND® done on 6-24 (13 days ago). I still experience painful, nauseating burps that sometimes have me running to the bathroom because I'm afraid I'm going to loose it. This is accompanied by sharp pain right in the center of my chest. It has eased up a bit in the last two days, but I'm wondering if this is "normal". I have adjusted my fluid intake, drink with a straw, continue to take Gas X. Any input would be much appreciated.

First of all, get rid of the straw! If you want gas, use the straw. I was informed never to do so.

Also, I suspect the pressure you are feeling is simply that your pouch is full - it can also make your feel a bit nauseated. How much food are you eating at one sitting? Generally, it should be in the area of 2-4 ounces - eaten slowly and chewed thoroughly.

I am only good for about 4 ounces. As soon as I feel any pressure, I immedately stop - to go on and finish may very well cause you to be sick. Oh, I have messed it up so I know. It is pretty miserable. I also had gas pain as well and that is not fun.

Hope that helps.
