Introductions Welcome! This is the first stop you should make while visiting the Lap-Band Talk forum. Please let us know more about yourself. Have you been banded ? Who was/is your Lap-band doctor ? How much did you lose etc. Do you have your own Lap-Band web site ?

New to Bandlandia!

Hello! I am from Brooklyn, NY and was banded on 6/18/07 by Dr. Christine Ren at NYUWLC. Sailed through the surgery and am feeling really great. Too great, I think.

I have lost 10 lbs. since the day of surgery as per the scales. I know I should be thrilled, but I really don't see how it is possible. Yes, I have a very small calorie intake - not over 750 per day, but I am one of those people who normally loses very slowly.

My diet has consisted of 2 protein shakes per day, some V-8 juice and Crystal Lite. I have had very little variation except for some watered down pureed potato soup over the weekend. I added chicken broth to it and then pureed it. It was very good.

As far as sipping things, I do; however, it does not take me all that long to drink a glass of liquid. I do not let a lot of time go by between sips. Is this wrong? Is it hurting my pouch?

I am not hungry, but when I smell someone cooking, I can't help but wish I could eat something solid. Guess that will come in due time.

I go for my esophogram and first post-op visit with the surgeon on Friday. I guess I will find out how I have been doing then. It is just a little bit nerve wracking waiting.

I am glad to be here, and I wish everyone the best on their way to new and better lives.
