Insurance Coverage

Hi, I am considering the LAP-BAND®. I am going to a seminar in two days. I was wondering about insurance coverage for the band. My insurance doesn't specifically say it covers the surgery, the physician group putting on the seminar say they advocate for the patient to get the insurance to cover the surgery based on medical necessity, i.e. diabetes, apnea, etc.

Any input on the subject?

Call your insurance company and see if your employer EXCLUDES it.
