I went thru the same thing, I would lose real fast, then nothing from 3 to 4 weeks. I had my first fill at 7 weeks, then lost again. I think the body has to catch up or somthing. Not sure what is going on, I just know I lose for a few weeks, really fast, like 10 lbs, and then nothing for a few weeks.

As far as protein, I think my doc prefers me to stay away from bread, so I am not eating sandwiches, and I know a lot of bandsters have problems with bread. I would avoid them If you can, try lettuce wraps instead, I buy the leafy grean lettuce and make wonderful wraps out of them.
I think most docs prefer you to have a lean protein, like fish, chicken, turkey, or lean beef, eat that, then a few veggies, and if you have room a bite or two of starch/carbs (that is IF you have room), I find if I eat my protein, I have no room. The lab band diet is basically low carb/high protein diet in my oppinion.
It is confusing, but give it some time, before you know it, you will be a professional long term bandster! Here is another great artical about living with the band
