Welcome ChefMeg! I too am from VA--banded 6/3/08, 1 month on the dot today. I have lost a bit over 30 lbs. in that month. I am wearing a skort today that I haven't worn in 2 years. I haven't been the least bit sick, and I can truly say that I haven't really been hungry after the 1st week of adjusting -- my real problem is that I am forgetting to eat and have not been getting enough calories. I haven't even gone in for my first fill yet -- I would recommend the lap band in a minute...life is getting easier every day. Hello! I am from Virginia, too, and just made a seminar appt for July 29th. I will be self-pay and hope to have everything over with soon. I have been reading and reading and reading about gastric banding for 2 years and have already attended 2 seminars, but they were over a year ago so I have to do yet another one. Oh well. But I am tired of relying on insurance, so I will find some way to pay..haha.
