Hi! Newbie from Derby, England

I am just going through all the waiting at the moment to find out if I can get the Lap Band..I have seen everyone I need to see and done everything that I was told to do and have been told by everyone there that I am an ideal candidate for surgery....Until I get my letter though, telling me that I am going to get it I won't believe anyone! I have waited for a long time to get this and I am so scared of believing I will only to be told I can't. I hope it won't be too much longer before I know for sure..For now though I am coming on here to find out about other peoples experiences, hope and dreams, helping with advice or support if it's needed and hopefully getting the same, when (Positive thinking!) I get told that I can have it done!

hi bluestar, im also from England (Lincoln)..been to Derby few times, lovely place,
Anyway i went to see my GP this week & he has referred me to Derby NHS hospital,My GP seems to be behind me all the way, he says he has had no problems refering people to them
Im waiting to hear from them to get an appointment to get assesed...Have you been through many hurdles to get where you are now with them? it does sound like it, was you waiting long to hear from them?
I know each case is different..
